Poem: Boxing Day

“Gift giving is a true art.”—-Author Unknown

Tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs, a new iPad,
Another tablet,a second iPhone, Jazz CD’s of Miles Davis,
A portable piano, a pair of designer blue jeans,
A Baseball glove,a Set of golf clubs,a Hockey stick,
A lap top, Tickets to California,a Goose down parka,
Lots of junk I won’t use…

So that’s my list of things
Santa didn’t give me for Christmas
this year.

But he did have enough generosity
in his heart
to leave a gift card under the tree
for five hundred bucks
to purchase anything
at the local shopping mall.
